Sifting through the piles ~

RULES:
1.  Spend 20 minutes a day and de-clutter a pile.  Get some projects done in the process ~ YEAH!  If you don't get it done today, finish it tomorrow, but come back to it before moving on to the next pile.

2.  Start in one corner of the room and slowly make your way around the room until you're all done.

3. My office is a catch all room for everything.  No more, I say!  This stuff needs to find new homes & be dealt with.

March 2014 ~ Here's my 31 day
office clean up so far!

Sat., Day #1 -   Folded a tote of sheets that have been washed a couple times, just because they have been there for so long.  They are now put away in the linen closet where they belong.

Sun., Day #2 -  Emptied out another tub of Christmas wrapping paper, boxes to recycle, plastic to throw away, and a couple of presents that needed to find a home.  Soccer ball is now in the garage and Nerf items are with the other Nerf toys in my sons bedroom.

Mon., Day #3  - Got rid of another tote!  Winter gear that needed to be put back into the basement for storage.  Not in the office!  I even organized the basement storage while I was down there.  It's our storage room for holiday decorations and other seasonal stuff, I won't share pictures of that room.  Although, now it looks pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Tues., Day #4 - Put my oldest daughters current picture in the frame, that I took down 3 months ago to do.  My husband keeps asking me if she is part of the family anymore.  HINT, HINT put a new pic in the frame and get it up on the wall. (Check out, Back in the family, under Many Joys!)

Wed., Day #5 -  Found a couple of end of year picture pages at preschool the other day.  I didn't have the heart to throw them out, so I brought them home.  Delivered to their parents today so wouldn't get lost in my office.

Thurs., Day # 6 -  Yikes, mailed out 2013 Christmas/New Year's pictures to friends and family. Found in a bag on my scrapbooking table.  Why just say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  Let's say Happy Valentine's Day as well!  Don't want to add Happy St. Patty's Day to the list, so in the mail they go.  You can call this procrastination!

Fri., Day #7 - Cut and traced out the rest of my frosted window pieces.

Sat.,  Day #8 - Made my daughter deliver the rest of the Girl Scout cookie orders, that are sitting on my scrapbooking table.

Sun., Day # 9  - The Lord's Day - Go to church, a day of rest!

Mon., Day #10Taking PTA bulletin board board supplies back up to the school where they belong.  No, longer a home for that in this room.

Office Junk - Progress Report ~

Here's what I've been up to, in my very cluttered office.  Check out the area under the table.  The shelves are now dusted and I can get to them now!  As you can see, only two clear totes sit under the table.  One with my workout stuff.  The other with my binders that I will be putting my kids memorabilia school papers in.  Check it out ~

BEFORE - Yikes!
AFTER - Doesn't that look much better!
After - still more to go through on the top!

Closest thing I'm scrappin' these days ~

I've been doing the bulletin boards at my kids school the past couple of years.   This is what I've been up to.  The first year it was all about posting the information and throwing some décor in the mix.  Now it's all about scrappin' and creating a design.  Check it out!

2012-2013 School Year ~ Our theme was, Catch a Wave into RV PTA!

I change the theme every other month with the season/holiday we were in.  It was fun coming up with catchy phrases.

August/September Theme ~

October/November Theme ~
On the leaves I wrote,  Catch a Leaf and Fall into RV PTA!

Here's a closer shot of the leaves - I had all the décor pieces laminated.
Then I wrote the theme on them with dry erase markers.

December/January Theme ~ Catch a Flake and Float into RV PTA!

February/March Theme ~ Catch Spring Fever & Hop or Leap in RV PTA!

Tracking Calories ~

To do or not to do?

I've checked out several apps/websites to track my calories,  might just go back to writing it down in a notebook.

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/

Most items are on the search list, but in full serving sizes.  If you want a half serving size you need to re-enter the information and make a new entry.  I did just figure out that you can use the (Quick Add Calories button), then you don't have to type everything in.  Although, if you go back to see what you ate later it doesn't give you the option to enter in the name of the item.   It just says, Quick Added Calories.

For instance, I've noticed on myfitnesspal  that they have the full serving entered in the site, but if I only have half a serving then I want half the calories entered in for that item.   I don't want to make a whole new entry with all new information, takes to much time.   Hopefully, I'll figure our how to add 1/2 a serving in the system without having to enter all the information in again.

Notebook Method:  If I use a notebook I can write it down quickly, just 1/2 the calories that I ate instead of the full serving size and move on.   When logging in a notebook, it's just easier to focus on a couple things instead of everything as you tend to run out of room.

All I care about are the calories IN at this point.  It's hard to focus on all the different #'s (i.e.-protein, fat, carbs etc.)  That's why I want to use one of the sites as well, because most or all of them track things besides just calories for you.

Here are a couple other sites to check out as well.  I'm still testing them all out, will come back later with what I think of each.  Use what works best for you.

Continue working on those New Year's Resolutions.   If you fall off the wagon, get back on!

New book to read ~

Found this book on the library website, on my tablet the other day.  Started reading it, and then my tablet crashed, by the time I got my new Kindle it was due back to the library. Finally getting back to the book I started.  I've reread several of the chapters and up to where I left off.

This book is about a family with 5 generations of women, with a twist!  I'm not going to tell you anymore about it, as you need to read and find out what happens yourself.
